A demo of my process for keying out subjects against a matte. This video in particular was accomplished in the application Nuke, however the process has since been converted towards a workflow that's successful within After Effects, utilizing various plugins such as Red Giant, keylight, and color monitoring tools.
To create a believable composition, a 3-point lighting system was used in conjunction with gels on the ARRI lights to match the subject plate to the scene plate. In post-production, it became apparent that the perspectives of the subject and scene weren't 1:1. This was one of the more challenging hurdles of the project, something that was constantly tweaked with mesh warps until completion.
